Marketing Science to the Southern Baptists

This makes me wince. Via Sullivan, check out this quote from Albert Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

"If a biological basis is found, and if a prenatal test is then developed, and if a successful treatment to reverse the sexual orientation to heterosexual is ever developed, we would support its use as we should unapologetically support the use of any appropriate means to avoid sexual temptation and the inevitable effects of sin."

So on a professional level, I'm happy to see these nuts are devolping an interest in science. On an ethical level, the bigotry is painful. And on a scientific level...why on Earth would it have to be a prenatal test? People aren't sexually active until years and years after they're born...

...unless your plan is to never have them be born...
